Commen graphite material always has some very very tiny pores inside. And porosity of different graphite material ranges from 15~23%. When used in certain environment, it requires the graphite to be impermeable. So that we add impregnation process with phenolic resin for at least twice. After these impregnation steps with phenolic resin, the graphite block can be completely impermeable.
